The Gender Equality Indicator (GEM) is a tool for screening formal education institutions (kindergartens, primary and secondary schools) with respect to gender equality. The numerical results of the analyses made using the Indicator mean that the tool can be used to compare institutions; however, the tool is primarily intended to help institutions identify the areas in which they want to develop and realistically make progress in improving their gender equality potential.
