Automated webinars | 22 April 2021 13:00 — 22 April 2021 14:00

With platforms like Instagram and TikTok relying heavily on video, creating interesting and shareable video content to reach younger and more diverse audiences has become more important than ever. This workshop will provide practical tips on how you can film original footage for news videos and produce social-media friendly video content on just your phone. Led by Kassy Cho, a freelance journalist, producer and audience development strategist who has been pioneering an Instagram-first approach to social news videos and visual storytelling.

WHO IS IT FOR? Activists, journalists, leaders of organizations - anybody who's looking for answers how to be more visible online.

  • How to use your phone to shoot footage for videos wherever you are
  • Best practices for filming people (and yourself!)
  • Techniques for interviewing people for vox pops

HOW LONG WILL IT BE: 45 minutes with 15 minute Q&A round at the end.
Kassy Cho is an independent journalist and audience strategist. Kassy is the founder and editor-in-chief of Almost, an Instagram-first media outlet telling world news stories for young people.
